Hopefully on my next update, I will be able to give you a physical location of where you can buy my books! Yes, I finally gathered enough courage and sought out a couple of local book stores! I don't think I was nearly as nervous when I gave the reading for every grade level at Swansboro Elementary! I left 'Tyme's Hope' with them. I hope to finish transferring 'Gasgeil's Bravery' to Lulu so I can have more copies and take those. I learned a lot from the experience so next time will go much better. I was equipped with books and markers, I still had bags from the festival (which included the maze, search a word, book markers, and color sheets). I realized afterword, I should have had a business card and an intro page. I cringe at my lack of prep. Hopefully, the two stores can over look my folly and read the book. It's not me, nor the packaging that is important but the book. Hopefully they will forgive my poor introduction. 'Tyme's Hope' is one of my favorite children's tales (that I've written). I can't wait until Chris is finished with 'Something Greater Than Fear'--that's the story w/Figowy the mouse. It too is a really good read.
Well, lesson learned so I'm off to create business cards and an intro letter.
The first day of the festival was a sloppy one but a few did venture out. Sunday was a much brighter day. A few books went out into the world so I'm a happy author!
I've almost completed the formatting for "Eala's Misfit". The headers for the pages was giving me the most irritation but I may have haphazardly figured out how to make them work. Once that is fixed, then a few more editing tweaks and I plan to order a review copy so I'll be holding the actual book soon. Seems totally surreal. I've added a bio page and even an exerpt from the next book to hopefully make the readers salivate for more!
"Spirit Feathers" will be receiving its ISBN sometime this weekend. I've been delayed on applying for it due to the prep work for the festival and family matters. My mum is thankfully home from the hospital but she is still in need of a great deal of care.
Thanks to all who came by the festival and said hello. A special thank you to all those who supported my project fund by purchasing my hand-made earrings and those who bought books!
Check out the new cover! Chris did a fantastic job on it! http://www.eppyscreations.com/fragmentsofthekey.htm Now to finish up my tweaks on the format and final editing! I'm so excited and nervous. This is an extremely big editing job that worries me. I don't want any mistakes but a ton would be even worse! So wish me luck!I've a few happenings in the PR department so hopefully I'll have some pics to show. I have a festival this Saturday and then hopefully two more PR events toward the end of the month. Goodness, I can barely breathe but I don't care, that's what my inhaler's for! Wish me luck on those as well.
