In January of this year, my mum passed on.  I was asked to write a piece for her funeral and felt quite humbled by the thought of doing such a feat.  I mean, I write stories, fiction, fairy tales, and myths so how can I write non-fiction and do it justice.  I love to write but what if what I wrote was horrible?  What if my writing is not good enough?  I mean, I never have my head out of the clouds so coming to earth is something new to me.  I was quite pleased with what I wrote.  Well, that did not end my need for closure, if you can call it that.  No, to watch someone fade, day to day...well, I've had to do it once before (my grandmother-fought cancer as well though her suffering lasted much longer than my mums) so in a way this is my way of dealing.  It is not easy nor is it pretty, it is ever so humbling to watch someone fade from their lively presence to a mere shell.  Ok, enough of all that.  I heard a saying that I think will sum up how I wish to feel:  you can either feel one of two ways...you can either cry because she died or you can smile because she lived.  I like the latter because I am happy that she lived and that is what I choose to remember when all is said and done.

Here's the link: http://galleryofwriting.org/writing/1228799  to where it is stored at the Gallery.  Give her a read if you could.  I love, absolutely love to have readers enjoy my work and if you've time, drop me a message.

So goodnight dear ones!  Good dreams only, 'k? : )
